My printmaking has strongly influenced the work
of the last 3 years. In the paintings I layer
transparent colors with the (often surprising) color
results found in my monoprints, "print" with paint,
and use paint applied linearly, influenced by small
drypoint marks. My new drawings and work on
panel excite me with their openness, drama of
black and white, and greater abstraction. I've just
completed a second very large piece (8'x 9') to
experiment with scale. These contrast with small
works on black or dark textured grounds to explore
night time feelings.
